The Beginning…

This is what the property looked like when it became Haven at Greenwood Glen.

Kevin and I have always been visionaries, so we immediately saw good bones and knew that these homes were going to provide so many wonderful memories.
Family vacations.
Weekend getaways.
Antiquing in the foothills of Appalachia.

Why Haven?

Merriam- Webster defines a haven as “a place of safety or refuge.” We also see it as a place of rest and restoration. Our family’s goal is to both find all those things here for ourselves and to provide them for our guests. One of our first plans is refurbishing all the cabins, so that you have all you need to be comfortable , cozy and the kitchens well-stocked if you want really stay in and create your own meals.

While we are your hosts and your haven away from home is our home, we are happy to have as much or as little interaction with you as you’d like. We are delighted to provide you with ideas for outings, answer questions about the area, even shop for your groceries before you arrive, or chat with you around a bonfire,  but if you prefer solitude it’s not necessary to interact with us at all during your stay. (Of course, we are always available for concerns during your stay.)

As we are renovating and updating Haven, we look forward to updating the blog to show you all of the fun things we are encountering! This blog is also where we can share our family’s adventures and what’s going on in our town: West Jefferson, NC. If you’re looking for a Mayberry meets Stars Hollow vibe, you’re going to love Haven at Greenwood Glen.
